Need to buy seeds for your kitchen garden or tools to maintain the garden? The growing e-commerce platform now has companies that focus on gardening and agriculture.
Siddhant Bhalinge, who recently launched Ugaoo.com, says the portal not only sells gardening products but also gives an insight into best gardening practices and has a virtual knowledge centre. It is currently targeting customers in Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru and has tied-up with five companies for delivery of products. “We are targeting individuals who want to have a small garden at home.” And, the focus is on kitchen gardens and ornamental plants.
The knowledge centre helps in maintenance of gardens and offers tips. “We are going to raise funds in the next three months. We now get five to 10 enquiries a day and target to reach out to 10 cities in the next one year,” he says.
With more individuals taking on to gardening at home, it is essential to reach out to them online, he says.
