Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) on Monday
released the rank holders’ list for admission to undergraduate courses
for 2016.
S. Dheeneshwar, a resident of Tiruchengode
taluk in Namakkal district, topped the list with the aggregate 199.75.
Two other students with the same aggregate R. Datchinamoorthy of
Thuraiyur, Tiruchi and R. Manojkumar of Valantharavai in Ramanathapuram
were ranked second and third respectively.
TNAU Dean -
Admissions S. Mahimai Raja said the university had taken into account
applicants’ marks in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, divided
those by four to arrive at the aggregate.
The
university would call the applicants for counselling starting June 27.
On the first two days, it would hold the session for those who had
applied under the differently abled, children of ex-servicemen, sports
and other quotas. It would throw open the counselling for applicants
under the general category on July 4 and end it on July 10. It would
hold the second phase of counselling on July 25 and complete the process
by August 31.
As many as 36,322 students had applied
online this year for admission to 2,600 seats in 14 programmes
including the most sought after B.Sc. Agriculture.
A
release from the University said that the applicants could see online
their status in the counselling schedule by visitingwww.tnau.ac.in.
