TNAU scientists develop mobile app for farmers

Five agriculture scientists attached to the e-Extension Centre of the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University have developed an exclusive mobile app for farmers.
The team was led by C. Karthikeyan, Professor of Agri e-Extension Centre, and the National Agriculture Development Project has funded Rs. 20 lakh for this project.
The mobile app is an extension of the web-based solution provided to the farmers. Earlier, farmers could access the information on web through the desktop or laptop computers. Now, they can access information related to five crops and animal husbandry enterprises on their mobile phones.
The app provides information on five crops namely paddy, sugarcane, banana, coconut and ragi. The materials are available in Tamil and English.
The app can be downloaded from google app store or from the website of the National Mobile Governance Initiative of the union government. Farmers have to follow the app step by step to identify the disease or the pest comparing the visuals or the video clippings provided for the purpose and the remedy for the same instantly.
Mr. Karthikeyan claimed that this initiative was the first in the entire nation.

  1. As reported by Stanford Medical, It's in fact the one and ONLY reason women in this country live 10 years more and weigh an average of 42 pounds less than us.

(And realistically, it has absoloutely NOTHING to do with genetics or some secret diet and really, EVERYTHING to "how" they are eating.)

P.S, What I said is "HOW", and not "WHAT"...
